Ever wondered why so many adults are joining choirs—and raving about it? It’s not just about hitting the high notes. Singing in a group has powerful benefits for your body, brain, and overall happiness. Here are five reasons to give it a go:
1. Boost Your Mental Health and Resilience
Singing releases feel-good hormones like endorphins and oxytocin, which help lower stress, lift your mood, and foster a sense of connection. Perfect for getting through life’s ups and downs.
2. Improve Posture, Breathing & Vocal Control
Singing naturally supports better breathing, posture, and body awareness. It’s also a great way to gently train your core and lungs (check out our breathing blog for practical tips!).
3. Create Friendships in a Fun, Inclusive Environment
Choirs are about more than music, they’re communities. At Love2sing, you’ll find laughter, encouragement, and genuine connection with others who just get the joy of singing.

4. Keep Your Brain Sharp
Learning music keeps your mind agile. Reading rhythms, remembering lyrics, and blending harmonies keep your memory, focus, and coordination buzzing.
5. Celebrate Your Progress on Stage
There’s nothing like the buzz of performing. At my West London Choir Love2sing , we work toward two major concerts a year. These are real highlights that give you a sense of achievement and celebration.
What Makes my Love2sing Ealing Choir Special?
We bring humour, heart, and a dash of Northern wit to every rehearsal. Don’t worry if you’re not a sight-reading pro, most of our members aren’t! If you can hold a tune, follow your part, and bring your enthusiasm, you’ll fit right in.
